This paper presents the results of fire resistance tests on carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) strengthened concrete flexural members, i.e., T-beams and slabs. The strengthened members were protected with fire insulation and tested under the combined effects of thermal and structural loading. The variables considered in the tests include the applied load level, extent of strengthening, and thickness of the fire insulation applied to the beams and slabs. Furthermore, a previously developed numerical model was validated against the data generated from the fire tests; subsequently, it was utilized to undertake a case study. Results from fire tests and numerical studies indicate that owing to the protection provided by the fire insulation, the insulated CFRP-strengthened beams and slabs can withstand four and three hours of standard fire exposure, respectively, under service load conditions. The insulation layer impedes the temperature rise in the member; therefore, the CFRP–concrete composite action remains active for a longer duration and the steel reinforcement temperature remains below 400°C, which in turn enhances the capacity of the beams and slabs.  相似文献

This paper uses the Continuous Wavelet Transform Analysis on mode shapes for damage identification. The wavelet analysis is applied to the difference in the mode shapes between a healthy and a damaged state. The paper also includes a novel methodology for estimating the level of noise of the experimental mode shapes based on a standard Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR). The estimated SNRs are used for identifying and making emphasis on the less noisy data. Moreover, a mass attached to the structure is considered to enhance the sensitivity of the structure to damage. Modal analysis is performed for different positions of the mass along the beam. The results obtained for all the positions of the mass are combined so an averaging process is implicitly applied. The paper presents the results from an experimental test of a cantilever steel beam with different severity levels of damage at the same location. The results show that the use of the attached mass reduces the effect of noise and increases the sensitivity to damage. Little damage can be identified with the proposed methodology even using a small number of sensors and only the first five bending modes.  相似文献

In developing battery management systems, estimating state-of-charge (SOC) is important yet challenging. Compared with traditional SOC estimation methods (eg, the ampere-hour integration method), extended Kalman filter (EKF) algorithm does not depend on the initial value of SOC and has no accumulated error, which is suitable for the actual working condition of electric vehicles. EKF is a model-based algorithm; the accuracy of SOC estimated by this algorithm was greatly influenced by the accuracy of battery model and model parameters. The parameters of battery change with many factors and exhibit strong nonlinearity and time variance. Typical EKF algorithm approximates battery as a linear, time-invariant system; however, this approach introduces estimation errors. To minimize such errors, previous studies have focused on improving the accuracy of identifying battery parameters. Although studies on battery model with time-varying parameters have been carried out, few have studied the combination of time-varying battery parameters and EKF algorithm. A SOC estimation method that combines time-varying battery parameters with EKF algorithm is proposed to improve the accuracy of SOC estimation. Battery parameter data were obtained experimentally under different temperatures, SOC levels, and discharge rates. The results of parameter identification are made into a data table, and the battery parameters in the EKF system matrix are updated by looking up the data in the table. Simulation and experimental results shown that, average error of SOC estimated by the proposed algorithm is 2.39% under 0.9 C constant current discharge and 2.4% under 1.3 C, which is 1.91% and 2.35% lower than that of EKF algorithm with fixed battery parameters. Under intermittent discharge with constant current (1.1 C) and capacity (10%), the average error of SOC estimated by the proposed algorithm is 1.4%, which is 0.3% lower than that of EKF algorithm with fixed battery parameters. The average error of SOC estimated by the proposed algorithm under the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) is 1.6%, which is 0.2% lower than that of EKF algorithm with fixed battery parameters. Relative to the EKF algorithm with fixed battery parameters, the proposed EFK algorithm with time-varying battery parameters yields higher accuracy.  相似文献

Abstract

Oxidation reaction is the typical thermal runaway reaction, and the reaction of 1, 4-dioldiacetate-2-Butene oxidized by ozone was investigated in this study. Firstly, the thermal hazards of the oxidative exothermic reactions were identified and evaluated combined process risk assessment method. The Qualitative Assessment for Inherently Safer Design (QAISD) was used to identify the risk of the reaction process. Meanwhile, the Reaction Calorimeter (RC1e) was used to obtain the thermal properties of the oxidation reaction. Then the inherent safer designs (ISD) were proposed according to the risk assessment results to increase the level of safety of chemical industry technique. 1) ISD I: reaction temperature was improved to –5?°C, and ventilation rate was improved to 200?L?h?1. 2) ISDII: using a tubular reactor as reaction vessel. The results indicated that the severity of the reaction hazard was reduced by 43%, and safety was improved significantly via two ISDs. Moreover, the inherent safety level of the reaction was increased by 63% and 43.4% via ISD Iand II, respectively. The reaction process get closer to inherent safety theories of “minimize,” “substitute,” and “moderate”.  相似文献

We study the correlation of intensity fluctuations in random electromagnetic beams, the so-called Hanbury Brown–Twiss effect (HBT). We show that not just the state of coherence of the source, but also its state of polarization has a strong influence on the far-zone correlations. Different types of sources are found to have different upper bounds for the normalized HBT coefficient.  相似文献

Vector vortex beams (VVBs) possess ubiquitous applications from particle trapping to quantum information. Recently, the bulky optical devices for generating VVBs have been miniaturized by using metasurfaces. Nevertheless, it is quite challenging for the metasurface-generated VVBs to possess arbitrary polarization and phase distributions. More critical is that the VVBs' annular intensity profiles demonstrated hitherto are dependent on topological charges and are hence not perfect, posing difficulties in spatially shared co-propagation of multiple vortex beams. Here, a single-layer metasurface to address all those aforementioned challenges in one go is proposed, which consists of two identical crystal-silicon nanoblocks with varying positions and rotation angles (i.e., four geometric parameters throughout). Those four geometric parameters are found to be adequate for independent and arbitrary control of the amplitude, phase, and polarization of light. Perfect VVBs with arbitrary polarization and phase distributions are successfully generated, and the constant intensity profiles independent of their topological charges and polarization orders are demonstrated. The proposed strategy casts a distinct perception that a minimalist design of just one single-layer metasurface can empower such robust and versatile control of VVBs. That provides promising opportunities for generating more complex vortex field for advanced applications in structural light, optical micromanipulation, and data communication.  相似文献

一般认为,氯离子主要通过扩散方式侵入钢筋混凝土结构从而导致其中钢筋发生腐蚀破坏.目前应用广泛的Fick第二定律并没有考虑混凝土结构由于钢筋存在改变了氯离子浓度在时间、空间上的分布,而将混凝土结构/构件当成无加筋的素混凝土对待.事实上,氯离子不能透过钢筋输移,使得距离混凝土表面最近的钢筋周围氯离子集聚速度加快,进而导致氯离子侵蚀混凝土中钢筋开始发生腐蚀的时间大大提前.所以以往没有考虑钢筋存在阻滞影响的Fick第二扩散定律的预测结果偏于危险,本文通过大量有限元计算,分析了钢筋存在对氯离子在混凝土中扩散阻滞影响的规律性.可将改进的Fick第二扩散定律解析解应用于混凝土中钢筋开始发生锈蚀时间的预测.  相似文献
